Today was no exception.
I contacted a blogger in hopes that she'd write about us on her site. This was the response I got:
hi there. i have already said no to you before. if you leave another message on my blog i will file a harassment suit. my brother is a lawyer and i am super sue happy. really, willing lawsuits is one of my favorite things to do.
try me.
i have saved your IP address along with all of your blogs and blog aliases.
ooooh all kinds of good stuff for my lawsuit.
awesome.
now bugger off!
Needless to say, her grammar sucks and she doesn't see the point in capitalizing anything but that's besides the point. The fact that this was the first time I contacted her and this was her response really surprised me. It was also rather hurtful. As I mentioned before, if you don't want money from my company - just say "no thank you". There's no reason to threaten me with legal action (which wouldn't hold up in court because my email was NO WHERE NEAR harassing).
Out of the goodness of my heart, I will not reveal the name or URL of this blogger (unless you message me and ask me nicely) ... OK, so I won't do it publicly. Still, I can't deal with people like this.
What are your thoughts on bloggers like this? Do you think they deserve a forum for their thoughts if they are mean to bloggers like me?

I'm sorry things are tough. The way that blogger responded was way out of line. Even if you're bombarded by offers on a daily basis there's never a reason for a response like that. A simple 'no thanks' would have been sufficient. Personally I think it was b*tch move. I hosted a review & giveaway from your company & would do it again, you guys were great! Screw her & her sue happy a*s, lol, don't let it get to you :)
Eh, don't give it too much thought. You really can't get upset at people you "meet" in cyber space. It's just not worth it.
Wow way to be rude! I totally understand getting upset over something like that but she's a b*tch and she's ain't worth your time.
Sorry she was so rude. I have no idea why someone would react like that. I guess now you know not to waste your time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog :-)
Oh, that is just HORRIBLE :( I'm so sorry to hear you experienced that. You know, I am a firm believer in the "karma is a b*tch" school of thought and that is really no way to treat anyone.
I agree with the others here; don't give it a second thought. SHE is not worthy of YOUR time and you wouldn't want to deal with her anyway :)
I think what makes me so angry is the fact that she is widely known in the blogging community and well liked, as well.
She's not worth my time but no one should ever be threatened by a lawsuit for something like this.
That's bloody rude.
Glad it wasn't me. Honestly, a simple "No thank you" should have sufficed.
OMG! Just as I wrote the comment, by word verification code was:
POLITICS
No kidding.
I wish there was a "like" button on that one...
Wow, I am so sorry you were in contact with someone like that. There is no excuse for her rudeness.
Holy cow - that was rude and if you were sue happy you could do the same. If I don't like something, I just won't respond rather than hurt someones feelings. I'm so sorry that happened. BTW...I love your blog - great writing! I'm trying to keep back to basics and really express how I feel. Thanks for the inspiration!
