Recipe: Mongolian BBQ Wrap with Jasmine Rice

Craig and I are lucky enough to try foods from Shufersal grocery store. They're all from the Shufersal brand and we do our best to review each product fairly. Sometimes we love the food (like the cookies), other times we wished they'd refine their recipes before asking us to try stuff (like their pasta). Recently, we were asked to try Jasmine Rice. The bag looks like this:

Pro:
The bag is resealable - with an actual zipper. If you live in Israel, you know that's a rarity.

Con:
The directions on the bag are not really true. It took some messing around to get the rice perfect.

Jasmine Rice is the basics of rice. It's the easiest to make and comes out fluffy... not sticky. This made it perfect for our Mongolian BBQ wraps (don't worry, I have a recipe for you). When I was younger, I worked at a Mongolian BBQ restaurant as a cook - I learned how to pulverize meat and make it into something tasty that our customers created. A Mongolian BBQ wrap consists of your choice of meat, your choice of sauce and spices, and your choice of oil. Then you mix it with rice and wrap it in a tortilla.

How easy is that?!

Rice is a staple in our house and I can eat it with everything... I mean everything. Shufersal gets an A for their rice - it's light and fluffy... and tastes like rice.

So, how do you make a Mongolian BBQ wrap? Here's my recipe for a Mongolian BBQ chicken wrap - it's enough to feed 3 people:

Ingredients
1 chicken breast - cut into teeny tiny pieces
6 tortillas (flour works best)
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. olive oil
BBQ sauce
1 cup cooked rice

Prepared
Once you cut the pieces of chicken, put them in a bowl and combine it with your garlic powder, soy sauce, and olive oil. Mix well.

In a hot skillet, add your mixture and keep it moving around. Once it's cooked, remove it to a clean bowl and warm up your tortillas individually in the warmed pan.

When your tortillas are ready, put one on a plate, add 2 spoonfuls of rice in the center and then add your chicken (one spoonful should be enough - about 5-7 pieces). Add some BBQ sauce to the mix and wrap! Repeat for additional tortilla wraps.

Voila! There you have it - an easy dinner dish for your family!

Thank you to Shufersal Grocery Store for supplying us with the rice. All the opinions in this review are 100% mine.
