My Next Blog Challenge

A few weeks ago, while sitting at work in the conference room lunch area, I asked my coworkers a question: what should my next challenge be? The answers stemmed around weight loss, food, crafts, and pictures. Needless to say, I was as bored by the recommendations as I was by my blog. I've  hit a rut with blogging and rather than say "adios" to my fantastic readers (including our family in Australia, South Africa, the US, France, Canada, England, and Germany - yeah, we have a global family), I wanted to give myself a challenge. I also want to inspire YOU!

Last night, we went to dinner with Craig's cousin, Leora. Being the sweetheart that she is, she brought me a Marie Claire magazine from Australia. I LOVE IT! It's waaaaay better than the Marie Claire in the US. Anyway, there was an article about a woman who reviewed the book The Magic (the sequel to The Secret) and the book is all about gratitude. Since I work with an amazing life coach and I get to talk to amazing life coaches nearly every day, the topic of gratitude isn't new to me. I guess The Magic (not to be confused with the movie "Magic Mike") talks about how if you are constantly grateful, good things will come to you. The author of the article didn't really believe in the power of gratitude and she failed the assignment (in my opinion). She failed to understand that being grateful is a powerful thing but not because you can GET anything from being grateful. Being grateful (and just the act of saying "Thank You") for something makes you feel good inside and it reminds you that you are LUCKY to have what you do because a lot of others go without it.

So, here's my challenge: blog at least once a day on what I'm grateful for.

No matter how tired I am, how pissed off I am, and how down-and-out I feel - I am going to record what I am grateful for. Each morning when I wake up and each night before I go to bed, I'm going to vocalize "I am so grateful for..."

Sound like a plan?

Now, this wouldn't be a challenge if I didn't challenge YOU, too. When you read what I'm grateful for, I want YOU to write down what YOU'RE grateful for and leave it as a comment. The more goodness we put out in the world, the better off we'll all be.

It allows me to write out my feelings and insert them into your head.

Because I woke up late and he let it slide!
So, tell me what YOU are grateful for!

I am grateful for my children, who play peacefully most of the time when I have no energy to chase them.
